Tribute & Message From The Family

Linda S. Clark, 55, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, died on May 6, 2018. Linda was born on May 19, 1962 in McHenry, Illinois. She lived most of her life in the Western Suburbs.

She graduated from Johnsburg High School in 1981. After high school, she attended the University of St. Francis where she received a bachelor's degree in Social Work. She worked at Cintas Fire Protection (formerly Aurora Tri-State) for an amazing 32 years.

Linda was known for her kindness, resiliency, and her unwavering faith. She was a frequent volunteer at Hesed House, feeding the homeless, as well as a companion for the elderly. She was a devoted Catholic who served on several committees at St. Katharine Drexel, as well as a much-loved Religious Education teacher. She enjoyed taking long walks with the family dog, reading, and spending time with her family at their lake house in Iowa.

One of her greatest pleasures came from watching her husband coach his softball players, who lovingly called her "Mrs. Coach." And, her greatest pride was her daughter, with whom she was constantly laughing, as best friends do.

Survivors include her husband, Perry; daughter Abbey Buckels (Alex); mother, Donna Schaefer of McHenry, IL; brother, Chuck Schaefer (Kim) of Johnsburg, IL; brother, Randy Schaefer (Joan) of Ringwood, IL; sister, Karen S. Hobbs (Darryl) of Arlington, VA; and six nieces and nephews.

Her father, Ted Schaefer (d. 1982), and two brothers, Ron Schaefer (d. 2004) and Dan Schaefer (d. 2005), precede her in death.

Visitation will be 1:00 pm Sunday, May 13, 2018 until 5:00 pm at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove, IL. Funeral Mass at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8S055 Dugan Rd, Sugar Grove, IL, will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:00 am with a visitation one hour prior to mass. A private interment service will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in McHenry, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Condolence & Memory Journal

I am so saddened to hear about Linda's passing today. She was a beautiful, elegant lady with so much grace. I had the pleasure of working with her for a short time, she always had a smile on her face and she could fix any problem. She was a beautiful person inside and out, and she will be missed.

Words are often not sufficient at times such as this. The greatest way we can honor those that we have loved and lost before their time is by truly living. The first image that comes to mind when we would spend time together was Linda's smile and warm demeanor. We can only hope that memories of good times spent together and the love and laughter shared can help to serve as some comfort during this difficult time. We will hold the entire family in our thoughts and prayers. Linda will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Our deepest sympathies, thoughts, and prayers go out to Perry, Abbey, and all who knew and loved Linda. The kindness and joy that Linda brought to everyone that knew her will never be forgotten. She had the ability to light up the room and was such a joy to be around. We will always cherish our times that we got to spend with her at the lake Watching Iowa and cubs games, having dinners, and boating. She gave us some great advice when we had our newborn son I will cherish the moment that she got to meet Liam. She will be so missed. My heart goes out to Perry and Abbey, as I know the void that is present without her, but I hope you find comfort in knowing you now have the best guardian angel Who is always with you. We are sending our prayers and love. Remembering Linda today, tomorrow, and always.

I'm so sorry to here about Linda. I worked with Linda at Cintas for 3 1/2 years. Linda was the best at what she did and the office was chaotic with out her. I will definitely miss her. She was very hard working, very patient and very very nice. I had that "mom-like" respect for Linda. I'd even refrain from cursing when I spoke to Linda as I do when I talk to my own mom. I once got a little angry with Linda over the phone and she responded so positively..I didn't feel good about it calling her back very quickly to apologize and she said "no, that's ok, you were pushing back and I needed it" What a good person Linda was. She was always smiling. And there were plenty of times Linda made me laugh
