Samuel Edward Dissell, Sr. "Samiam", 77, of Aurora, IL, passed away on May 14, 2018 at Presence Fox Knoll. He was born on June 6, 1940 at St. Joseph Hospital in Aurora, IL, to Louis and Louise Dissell.

Sam married his first love in 1967, Diane Linda (Hageman) Dissell. They had 43 happy years together until her death in 2009 of complications from breast cancer. Then in 2011, he married his second love, Jean Farwell of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Jean passed away in 2013 of complications from uterine cancer. Sam was employed at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Montgomery, IL for 33 years in the machine repair department, retiring in 1991. He then became a bus driver for the Yorkville School District for many years. Sam served two years in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1963-1965. He was a member for many years of the Northern Lights Motorcycle Club in Aurora. He played and emceed with the Plano Golden Harvester Kitchen band for some 15 years. Sam loved theater, bowling and playing the tenor sax and organ.

Survivors include his brother, Richard Dissell of Ottawa, IL; two sons, Sam, Jr. of Sandwich, IL and Daniel of Amboy, IL; a special friend, Verna Corbin; four grandchildren and one great grandson.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and one brother.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 4 P.M. until a prayer service to be held at 7 P.M. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60506.

Sam and Dan, Carol and I are so very sorry for your loss. We thought very highly of your father. He was a good guy who always seemed to have a smile on his face, and we will always remember him that way.
