Condolence & Memory Journal

We are so sorry, we just learned of Dan's going home to be with the LORD. I was concerned because we had not heard from him in a while. We met Dan at the Mayo Clinic when I was back there and my wife is the one fou gave a ride to the hospital.
Our prayers have been with Dan for a long time.

When I was diagnosed with the same cancer (a far milder version) as Dan, he spent four hours telling me his story and provided guidance along the way. Because of his recommendations, I owe much of the quality of my life to him. Dan's faith in Christ was strong. Dan displayed Matthew 25:40 The King will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.' "

My heart and prayers go out to Dan's family, Marsha, friends, colleagues and everyone whose life he touched -- and touched his -- I know he loved you all SO much! I met Dan 15 years ago at a business function and worked with him through various phases of his business/life. I witnessed Dan hit head on many challenges throughout this period in his life -- the way he kept his faith, remained positive and stayed strong through so many ups and downs amazes me. The world is not a better place without Dan in it but he touched many lives is such a way he will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Dan -- can't believe you're really gone.

Posted by Jay Fechner - Geneva, IL   September 15, 2018

Danny was my childhood friend, one of my first friends. Together with all the guys on our block, we had so many childhood adventures: pick up games for every sport in every season, swimming in the Borowiak's pool, whiling away the Summer with board games,TV, bike trips, and the Batavia Quarry pool to name only a few. Danny was always there to play. We'll never get that neighborhood football reunion game together, my friend, but I have my memories of you and I remember you dearly.

My friend gave his all to beat this terrible disease! He will be missed more than anyone knows. Dan and I were roommates while we both were starting our careers after college. His in insurance and mine.......I didn't quite know yet, but he and I always had a friendship that was true. We talked all the time, vacationed sometimes, golfed as often as we could. When we did talk it was about everything and anything. We were close to say the least and Dan will be missed in many ways in my life. Prayers go out to his family, Marsha and all the folks that knew Dan as I know he touched many in his life. Farewell my are in a better place now. Sorry for not being at the service in person, but know that my heart is with everyone that is attending. #heartbroken!

Dan was an exceptional and genuine man. He was a true friend and would give the shirt off his back whether you needed it or not. Just his smile was enough for me. I can only say I wish I would have spent more time with Dan and I will always remember the great times we shared.
