Anilda Curet, 83, of Aurora, transitioned from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 8, 2009 at Provena Mercy Hospital after a sudden illness. She was surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren at the time of her death. Anilda was born in Aguirre, Puerto Rico on December 12, 1925.

Anilda received a degree in Nursing in Puerto Rico and was later married to Hector Curet Sr. Although their marital years were limited, Anilda and Hector maintained a life long friendship. Together, they parented Sonya (Bill) Fowler, Lysette (Luis) Feliciano, Anilda Curet Jr., Lillian (Angel) Villamil. The Lord further enhanced and blessed this couple with the gift of Rebecca (Becky) Curet. In addition to being her child, Becky was Anildas' life long friend and companion. A loyal and faithful friend, a pillar of strength and love, these words are used to describe the son Anilda adopted in her adult life, Norberto (Maria) Hernandez. From these seeds, 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren came to fruition. Her loving nature and personality attracted countless dedicated friends who are too many to name, but will forever cherish the relationship they have shared. Anilda is survived by the above mentioned and was preceded in death by her son, Hector Curet.

A special "Thanks" to Dr. David Sanchez, who was more than a physician, but rather was loved as a "nephew". His compassion and dedication far surpass that which could ever be expected. The family would also like to thank the ER staff of Provena, as well as Andrea, Bob, and Laura and other ICU staff, whose gentle touch facilitated comfort for Anilda and her family during this difficult time.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl. Aurora 60506 from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday November 12, 2009. In remembrance, refer to Psalm 23 and think of Anilda, as this was her favorite Psalm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
