THE BLESSED AND FULFILLED LIFE OF BARBARA JACKSON

Barbara (nee Ford) Jackson was born March 21st, 1927 in Vicksburg, MS to the late Andrew and Mary (nee Nelson) Ford.

She was married to the late J.T. Robbins and to that union one son, James Robbins was born.

Barbara later met and was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Adam Jackson Sr. for 53 years.

Barbara was a stay at home wife and mother to her children and generations of surrogate children. Also, known as a world-renowned chef in her home and to everyone she touched.

She was also a fashionably forward lady who took pride in her appearance, enjoyed the company and conversation of friends and family; conversations which she often led in a candid, lively and fun way.

Together, Adam and Barbara enjoyed hosting card playing games, dinner parties and other social gatherings. The two were a dynamic duo with Adam being known to friends as "Jack", "Son", "Papa Jack", "Jack Adam" and Barbara as "Bobbi", "Barb", "BB" and "Momma Jack"
Barbara is survived by her brother George Ford Sr., 4 children to cherish her loving memory, James (Ardis), Adam Jr., Brenda and Karen. Grandchildren Jade, Adam II, Aaron Sr, Jason, Justin, Brendon, Jason and Lyndsi. Great Grandchildren, Jaalyn, Omunique, Aaron Jr, Malia and Amiyah and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends in Aurora, II, Vicksburg MS., and Fayette MS.

She was preceded in death by parents Andrew and Mary Ford, by loved ones' husband Adam Jackson Sr, brothers Wilbert, Andrew, and Louis Ford; sisters Alberta, Beatrice, Carrie, Minnie Pearl, and Mary Louise "Minnie" and surrogate sons Don Jackson and Leroy Tenner.

Mom departed this life on August 9, 2017 as written in God's book of life, she leaves us with great memories of her love, style, drive and passion to do as you're called upon to do until the very end.

We miss you both Adam and Barbara!

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 10 A.M. until the homegoing celebration at 11 A.M. at Progressive Baptist Church, 275 S. Barnes Rd., Aurora, IL 60506. Rev. Dr. Kevin J. Bedford will officiate. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
