Obituary

On Sunday, December 23, 2018, Brandon James Carter, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly at the age of 34.

Brandon was extremely talented with his hands and found his niche working on trains for Union Pacific Railroad. His passion for fixing things continued at home where you'd often find him working and building in his garage. When he wasn't busy in his garage, Brandon would be cheering on (or yelling at) his favorite sports teams: St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Blackhawks, and Wisconsin Badgers. Brandon had a passion for animals of all species and his birds were truly part of the family. He was exceptionally fond of his talking parrot, George who was always by his side. Brandon was proud of his father's time as a Flight Engineer in the Navy and they bonded over airplanes and flying.

Those who knew Brandon were very familiar with his extreme wit, sarcasm, and loyalty. He lived to make people laugh and friends often said that Brandon would give them the shirt off his back. Brandon will be missed by all that were lucky enough to call him family or a friend.

Brandon will be missed everyday by his parents, Gary and Donna (Kosling) Carter; sisters Jennifer (Matt) Wikoff and Leanne Carter; nephew Carter Wikoff, niece Brooke Wikoff and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Rose Kosling and JL and Helen Carter as well as his uncle, Scott Carter.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 4 PM – 8 PM at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Drive, Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the chapel.
