Edith Virginia Stoner, 92, of Aurora, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012. She was born August 3, 1919 in Stanton, NE, daughter of the late John and Rebecca Atkins.

After graduation from Norfolk High School, Virginia attended Northwestern Bible College in Illinois. She worked at Strathmore Company and Aurora Savings and Loan. Throughout her years in Aurora, Virginia was a member of Claim Street Baptist Church and later MorningStar.

On March 3, 1961 Virginia married Clifford Stoner who passed away in 2000.

She is survived by her step-children, John Clayton Stoner and Judy Elizabeth Stoner Bond; grandchildren, Brian(Wendy)Stoner, Stacy(Kurt)Meger and Clayton Bond; great-grandchildren, Kayley, A.J., Lauren and Lily.

Along with her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her son, David Scott Atkins Stoner; brothers, Leslie, Cecil and Robert Atkins; sisters, Felicia Atkins, Dixie Yenter, Ruth Atkins, Lois Stoner, Vivian Hunker, Frances Graber and Verna Belle Atkins.

Virginia lived her last years at Jennings Terrace in Aurora where she was given excellent and loving care by their professional staff.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 from 10 AM until time of service 11:30 AM at Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL 60506. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park.
