Evelyn L. Meyer, 84 of Aurora passed away Saturday October 10, 2009 at Countryside Care Centre. She was born March 30, 1925 in Aurora the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Berger) Glossop.

She is survived by her sisters, Lorraine M. Schnack of Edwardsville, IL and Florence M. Cahill of Montgomery, IL, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Meyer in 1978 and her brother Charles "Bud" Glossop in 1944.

At her retirement, Evelyn had been working for many years serving Illinois veterans and their families as a social worker with the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 85 S. Constitution Dr. Aurora, IL 60506. Visitation will be held Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
