Jeanette I. (Seibert) Marshall, 85, of Montgomery, formerly of Sandwich and Aurora, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at her home. She was born on December 5, 1923 in Aurora, the daughter of the late William and Margaret (McClure) Seibert.

She and Donald G. Marshall were married 53 years before his passing in 2000. Survivors include their children, James (Peggy) Marshall of Aurora, Steven (Pamela) Marshall of Dunlap, IL, Diane (Donald) Barrow of Montgomery and Cindy Tessmann of Warrenville. She delighted in being the grandmother of Steven and Lauren Marshall, Eric, Carly and Melissa Tessmann, and Derek Barrow. Left to mourn the loss in addition to immediate family are step-grandchildren, Dario, Emily, Matt, Ryan and Shaunna. She is also fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews as well as all her friends at Wedgewood Manor Apartments.

Jeanette worked during WWII first in Washington D.C. and later in Aurora and Fort McDowell in the Government Accounting Office and for the U.S. Army. After their marriage in 1946, Don and Jeanette moved to Urbana while Don attended U of I Engineering School.

She was active in the community, church and school programs while raising her family and working part time. In her later years, she volunteered at the Fox Valley YMCA preschool. She loved working with children, indulging her animal friends and baking her special banana bread. Jeanette never knew any strangers, only friends she hadn't met yet.

Along with her parents and husband, Don, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brother, Frank (Helen) Seibert, Ione (Richard) Lorang, Wilma (Leroy) Kewenig, Selma (Winnie) Johnson, Shirley (Charles) Harrington and Joyce (Jack) Legler.

Private services will be held followed by an interment of her and Donald's ashes at Lincoln Memorial Park.
