May 13, 1997 - November 23, 2017
Sugar Grove, Illinois | Age 20

Julia C Pratte age 20, of Sugar Grove Il, she was born May 13, 1997 in Alexandria Romania and arrived July 12, 1999 to her forever family, the daughter of Gerald and Vicki Pratte. Julia passed from life to heaven on November 23, 2017 surrounded by family and loved ones, where she joined her beloved Papa for Thanksgiving.

Julia graduated from Kaneland High School, class of 2017, she loved school her moto was "Once a Kaneland Knight always a Kaneland Knight"! She was currently a student in the SAIL program held at Waubonsee Community college. Having always attending Kaneland schools and being a student of the HOPE program, which was a very meaningful program for Julia and her friends. In her 4 year battle with cancer Julia received a lot of support from the school staff and students. Mr. Willis, Mrs. Tomasik, and Mrs. Little of the HOPE program became Julia and her families support and encouragement. Their kindness and love will be remembered always. Julia's dream job of being a parapro at John Shields elementary where she had previously attended came true on her favorite day of the week "Workday Wednesday", when she was able to read and help students with math.

Julia had a special place in her heart for music and surrounded herself with diverse singers and groups. Her favorite will always be Frank Sinatra and she was looking forward to singing a duet with "Frank". Julia's last days music brought her a lot of comfort and she could take herself to a "Happy Place" with Mom…asking Julia what she and Frank would be wearing for their duet. Julia in a pink sparkly evening gown, Frank in a white tux.

Julia and her Uncle Brad's love for music bound them together. Though he did not share her love of "Frank" the on-going teasing was great fun. Brad was with Julia the first day she was diagnosed to the last day. Their day started with his morning "Morning Smiley" text. A thrill for both was attending a Paul McCartney concert together and her first "use of the men's room". Julia's last day with us was the ending to a weeklong "best ever" per Julia slumber party. She loved her family and friends more than anything.

Julia was a passionate player of games like Skip-bo and Uno she spent many hours playing with her Nonna and others. Julia was a remarkable author and story teller. She would create characters from music, movies, family and friends in her life.

Julia is survived by her parents, Gerald and Vicki (Brown) Pratte; her Nonna, Wanda Brown and grandparents, Wilford and Ava Pratte of Poplar Bluff Missouri; her Uncle Bear (Bob) and Patty Brown; her cousins, Zachary (Ashley), Tyler (Sarah) and Josh(McCall); Along with many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.
