May 7, 1935 - September 12, 2020
Sugar Grove, Illinois | Age 85

Leslie "Tooter" Roeder, of Sugar Grove, died Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Delnor Community Hospital. She was born May 7, 1935 in Sioux City, IA the daughter of the late Walter and Dorsey (Flannery) Ewald.

She is survived by her 5 children; daughters, Linda (Russ) Goldberg , Laurie Redini, Sherry (Greg) Martin and Amy (Bill) Rocholl; her son, William (Rosita) Roeder; her 11 grandchildren, Sarah and Jordan Goldberg; Bear Roeder and Shannon (Andy) Loth; Lauren and Addison Roeder; Tom (Anna Swanson), and Ellie (James McGrath) Martin; Corey Adam (Alley Heiman), Alex Adam (Zach Neill) and Josh Adam (Arielle Tovar); and 2 great grandchildren: Liam and Paxton Neill; As well as countless friends, and acquaintances.

Tooter's last few years were filled with fighting many physical ailments. She handled them with grace along with a little smoke and mirrors. On one level, we understood her challenges but it became clearer what it took for her to keep going on a daily basis. Her determination was focused on spending time with her family and friends. She loved her people! The kitchen was often the gathering ground surrounding Tooter. It made her so happy to see her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoying time at Toot's!

Mom made friends everywhere. Tooter embraced and treasured her many friends from childhood through her years. She loved to follow what was going on with her family and friends on her iPad via Facebook and loved everyone's life celebrations. Friends old and new were cherished. Remarkably on the last day she opted for the "buddy system" and left this world just hours before her Dear Friend Carol. This will always bring comfort and a smile to our family.

Godspeed Grandma Toot!

In addition to her parents, Walter and Dorsey Ewald, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Roeder Jr. and her son-in-law Ronald S. Redini Sr.
