Maria M. Krieghoff was unexpectedly called home to our Lord Sunday evening, October 18, 2009, at the age of 83.

She was born July 27, 1926, in Munich, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1945 to be with her husband, Wm. Earl Beach. They lived in Lake City, Tennessee, Austin, Texas and Cincinnati, Ohio. After her husband's death, she married Howard Krieghoff of Cincinnati and considered her extended family a blessing.

Maria worked as a bookkeeper for Fiberglass-Evercoat Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio for many years. She enjoyed her work and made many friends there and through the St. John United Church of Christ where she was married to Howard.

She was a loving wife and exceptional caregiver to Howard in his declining years.
After his death, she chose to move to Montgomery, Illinois to be near her only daughter and family. We are thankful for the past three years we were able to spend with her.

She enjoyed her travels with Howard to Hawaii and Alaska. In June of this year she was able to enjoy a trip to Disney World/Cruise with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and to be with them was her greatest joy. She always looked forward to baseball and basketball games with Lake, her great-grandson. She was also an avid football fan and rooted for the Bengals and the Bears. Maria loved animals, especially dogs and was known to spoil them.

Maria was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and enjoyed the fellowship. She loved to crochet and made prayer shawls for the Church's prayer ministry. She contributed her time to crocheting baby caps and making dolls for hospitalized children through the Golden K Kiwanis.

Her greatest legacy was that she was a gentle, kind, humble, very considerate and beautiful person.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Brigitta M. Neumann and son-in-law Manfred, two granddaughters, Tina (Martin) Meyers of Woodbury, MN. and Michelle (Jay) Turner of Oswego, IL., 4 great-grandchildren, Lake J. and Gracen Maria Turner, Zoe Maria and Sydney Marie Meyers. Her extended family in Ohio include Jim and Sandy Krieghoff, Wayne and Donna Krieghoff, 3 grand-daughters Carole (Ray) Scott, Laura (Dave) Hensley, Jennifer Krieghoff and one grandson Tom (Trisha) Krieghoff, 5 great-grandchildren Candace M. and Rachelle L. Scott, Jacob and Olivia Hensley and Sarah Krieghoff.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Wm. Earl Beach, Howard Krieghoff, her parents Hans and Maria Frischhut and her beloved brother, Hans Frischhut.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2009, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora, IL. 60506 followed by a service with the Rev. Dr. Juancho Campanano. Interment will be at the Sugar Grove Cemetery immediately following the service. Memorials can be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.

Mom, you were taken from us too soon and so unexpectedly. We Love you and miss you dearly.
