Ralph John Swan, 81 of Aurora passed away Saturday September 19, 2009. He was born May 17, 1928 in Batavia, IL the son of the late Ralph and Esther (Bentson) Swan.

Ralph was a graduate of West Aurora High School in 1946, and later the University of Minnesota. Ralph enjoyed working in the office furniture industry for over forty years, during which time he was president of Bentson Industries. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Aurora, and loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Ralph was an avid outdoorsman who liked to fish and golf.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lois, and his sister, Nancy (John) Testerman of Redlands, CA. Lois and Ralph have four children, Ralph "Timer" (Denise) Swan, Esther "Bebe" (Charles) Fuller, Linda (Carl) Zamecnik, and Lee Ann (Karl) Karnatz; grandchildren, John (Valerie) Swan, Jennifer (Steve) Smith, Ted Swan, Katie Swan, Anna (Michael) Gonzales, Emily (Chad) Deppeler, Gardner Fuller, Michael Zamecnik, Heidi Zamecnik, Kevin Karnatz, and Sarah Karnatz; great grandchildren, Sydney and Pressley Swan, Trevor and Jocelyn Smith, and Ava and Gabriel Gonzales; niece and nephew, Laura and Mark Testerman;

Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 22, 2009 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church 27 S. Edgelawn, Aurora, IL 60506. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. September 23, 2009 also at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Interment will take place at West Batavia Cemetery.
