Ralph R. Rasey, 87, of Aurora passed away Tuesday September 29, 2009 at Provena McAuley Manor. He was born March 4, 1922 in Aurora, IL the son of the late Charles and Signa (Kallstedt) Rasey.

Mr. Rasey graduated from West Aurora High School, Cornell College and attended Northwestern University where he did his graduate work. He served his country during WWII with U.S. Army Air Corp. He was active with the Boy Scout Troup 3 and a Life Member of the Community Foundation. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where he served as Senior Warden of the Vestry. Mr. Rasey was employed at Richard-Wilcox Manufacturing Company retiring as controller.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marion (Morris) Rasey of Aurora; his children, David (Marilyn Lantz) Rasey of Des Moines, IA, and Bruce (Marion) Rasey of Vernon Hills, IL; his grandchildren, Erika Rasey of Iowa City, IA and Robert Rasey of Vernon Hills, IL; his brother, Gerald (Janice) Rasey of CO; his sister-in-law, Nancy (late James) Rasey of Oswego, IL; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, James E. Rasey.

The family would like to thank Father de Kay for his support and kindness and to the staff at McAuley Manor who took such good care of Ralph and his family during their time of need.

Visitation will be held Friday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. October 9, 2009 at The Healy Chapel 332 W. Downer Pl. Aurora, IL. Funeral services will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m. October 10, 2009 at The Healy Chapel. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be directed to Trinity Episcopal Church 218 Benton St. Aurora, IL 60505 or Cornell College 600 First St. S.W. Mt. Vernon, IA
