Raymond J. Holeman, 89, resident of Westchester since 1957, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017. He was born in Roseville, Warren County, Illinois on November 13, 1927, son of the late DeMoss and Villa (Kirby) Holeman.

Ray served in the Army of Occupation in Italy following WWII. Then retired a Captain from the Army Reserves in April 1960.

Ray graduated from Bradley University, Peoria in 1950 and was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. He was employed as the Executive Secretary of the Mason Contractors Association of Cook County from 1956 to 1967. Then in November 1990 he retired as a Director of the Laborers' Welfare and Pension Fund.

He served as a member of the Westchester Planning Board for many years and was a Life Member of the Moose and VFW. Ray was also an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie (Shepard) Holeman; his daughters, Melinda (David) Reichmann, Judy Ruedlinger and three grandchildren, Lisa (Anthony) Muscolino, Katie Rose Ruedlinger, Kyle Ruedlinger and one great-grandson, Ethan (Ruedlinger) Kolar.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and sisters and his son, Brian Holeman.

A private graveside will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL.
