Shean Vanance Simmons-Harris went to her heavenly home for a glorious party with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 1, 2020 at the age of 63. She was born in Pontotoc, MS on December 4, 1956 to parents Birdie and Gus Jr. Green. Shean was known for always having a smile on her face with a pop of red on her lips. There was no one she wasn't friends with and never met a stranger.

Shean graduated from West Aurora High School in Aurora, IL in 1975. She pursued many educational avenues after graduation including a career in nursing and counseling where she used her time, talent and treasure to help those that were less fortunate than others.
Shean committed her life to Christ at an early age. She was an active and beloved member of Gayles Memorial Baptist Church. Her passion was working with the children in her community. She started 4h, Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts in her communities where she lived to help enrich the lives of the children around her. She also worked with youth at New Community Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Frank Harris; her mother, Birdie Green of Aurora, IL; her 6 children, Brandy Gilliam of Aurora, IL, Arrealia China Gavins of Baltimore, MD, Deanna Simmons ofAurora, IL, Olympia Dwomoh (Kay) of Montgomery, IL, James Simmons (Keyonna) of Yorkville, IL and Anthony Simmons (Chelsie) of Aurora, IL; 10 grandchildren, Isis, Payton, Isaiah, Shaun, Kai, Cheyanne (Bubbles), Caleb, Nevaeh, SirQuan, Kimberly and Karma; her sister, , Melyon Thompson (Harry); her niece, Vaviera Portales (Ricardo; her sisters & brothers-in-law, Pauline Jeffries (Pauline), Annie Robinson (George), Georgia Kinard (Rayford), Gloria McKinney (Luis), Katherine Gilmer (James), Ruth Johnson (Henry), Elbert Harris (Pam) and John Harris (Maxine) and her best friend, Shirley Stokes.

Shean was preceded in death by her father, Gus Jr. Green and her cousin, Diane Hassell.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 5-7 P.M. at Gayles Memorial Baptist Church, 730 Gillette Ave., Aurora. Homegoing services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11 A.M. with a visitation from 10 A.M. until the service hour also at Gayles Memorial Baptist Church.
