Obituary

Shirley A. Leadbetter, 87, of Aurora, IL, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Rush-Copley Hospital. She was born February 22, 1931 in Big Rock, IL, the daughter of the late John and Edith (Baker) Cooper.

Shirley was employed at many factories in the Fox Valley Area. she also worked for the Salvation Army Golden Diners preparing meals for the Aurora senior community. She enjoyed sending and receiving cards while sipping her Lipton Tea and listening to WBBM radio. The family members would like to thank her loving caregivers, Rosemary and Chester for their love and care of mom.

She is survived by her five children, Audrey Medina of Elburn, Chuck (Dawn) Leadbetter of Montgomery, Linda Poss of Earlville, Rosemary (David) Morales of Maple Park and Chester Leadbetter of Montgomery; her twelve grandchildren, Tanya, Cam, Shane, Belinda, Crystal, Arline, David, Kelly, Jimmy, Misty, Katie and Jeany; her seventeen great grandchildren; her brother, George Cooper and her sister, Mabel Sanmann; her special friends Joan and Edith; many other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Leadbetter; her great grandchild, Kayley Zarate; her brother, Carroll Cooper and her sister, Alice Davis.

Visitation will be held Sunday 1-5 p.m. May 6, 2018 at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60506. Funeral services will be held Monday 10:00 a.m. May 7, 2018 also at The Healy Chapel. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials in Shirley's name may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation, 205 N Michigan Ave, Suite 2530, Chicago, IL 60601.
